It seems like the 2019 GMC Sierra has been around for longer than it has actually been for sale or lease at Billion Auto Group. Part of the reason time seems distorted is because of all the new features and equipment the truck-maker has made available, so we’re always learning something new. One new feature that has intrigued more than a few Billion Auto Group customers over the last few months is the truck’s industry-first carbon fiber cargo bed. People regularly ask us, ‘How do I pre-order the new GMC Sierra CarbonPro?’ In addition to giving them that information, we can now also give them a more accurate timeline when it will be available.

“CarbonPro is made of the same raw material found in seven-figure supercars and even aerospace applications,” Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global GMC said in a press release. “Coupled with offering the world’s first six-function MultiPro tailgate, the 2019 Sierra packs a one-two hauling punch for whatever the situation demands.”
According to the latest available information, GMC will start producing versions of the full-size Sierra pickup truck outfitted with the CarbonPro package in early June. That means we can expect to see these unique GMC pickup trucks as soon as later that same month. In order to get the GMC CarbonPro equipment, buyers will need to start with the Denali or AT4 versions of the 2019 Sierra. It is also available on the Sierra 2500 and 3500 models.
Why should I get a carbon fiber truck bed?
Pickup trucks are built to work hard. This is especially true of the new GMC Sierra for the 2019 model year. A carbon fiber cargo bed offers a few very important advantages over traditional steel and certainly, aluminum.
First, carbon fiber will be better able to stand up to rugged use and absorb impacts that would leave dents and scratches in a metal cargo bed. This kind of damage leaves the possibility open of corrosion forming.
Additionally, by replacing a metal cargo bed with carbon fiber, GMC has been able to expand payload-hauling figures without negatively affecting fuel economy.
