Heavy-duty versions of the new Ram 1500 will be able to make as much as 1,000 pound-feet of torque. The changes made to the half-ton truck’s engine represent an eight percent increase in horsepower and a 14 percent increase in torque output. These are very impressive numbers, but what does that actually mean to owners of the 2020 Ram 1500?
For starters, the half-ton version of the 2020 Ram 1500 with the upgraded EcoDiesel engine will be able to tow up to 12,560 pounds, a new high-water mark for the vehicle segment.
