“The Ariya, a key model in Nissan’s plan to roll out 10 new models in 20 months, demonstrates our commitment to meeting customer demand for crossovers with the most advanced electrified, automated and connected technologies,” Nissan Chief Operating Officer Ashwani Gupta said in a press release. “The company expects sales of its EVs and e-POWER electrified models to be more than 1 million units a year by the end of fiscal 2023. The Ariya will play a significant role in attaining that goal.”
2022 Nissan Ariya Performance Specs
One of the many ways the 2022 Nissan Ariya will both defy and change the expectations for electric vehicles will come in its performance output. In lieu of a gasoline-powered engine, the 2022 Ariya is slated to have a series of powerful electric motors under the hood that will be powered by high-capacity Lithium-ion batteries. Early estimates from the manufacturer say that it will be able to make well more than 200 horsepower and as much as 443 pound-feet of torque. It will be available in front- and all-wheel-drive versions.
When the Ariya has a full battery charge, owners should be able to expect it travel up to 300 miles.
What features will it offer?
It’s hard to know what kind of connectivity equipment will be available in two years. However, Nissan has said that the future electric crossover SUV will have a smartphone-compatible infotainment system that will work with both the Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® suites of applications. Additionally, Ariya owners will be able to pair their Amazon Alexa digital home assistant to the vehicle.
