How does Nissan RDA work?

Nissan vehicles are among the most technologically advanced models in the world. However, the Rear Door Alert system is surprisingly simple. When RDA is activated, it will monitor when the rear doors of a properly equipped vehicle are opened and closed, as well as when the vehicle comes to a stop after being in motion. If the rear doors are not opened when the trip stops, a visible message will appear in the center gauge cluster. Should the driver not clear that notification, a special sequence of horn chirps will be heard.

The automaker understands that not every driver needs Rear Door Alert or that there will be times when it needs to be temporarily disabled. It can be temporarily or permanently turned on and off.
